Overview
McCarthy Companies was hired as the Construction Manager for Orchard Senior Apartments, 20 affordable senior homes. Working with the Santa Paula Housing Authority, we transformed an abandoned assisted living center into a vibrant community. Fountainhead Architects did a fantastic job transforming an institutional-looking building into 20 craftsman-style homes. All of the homes are one-story and designed to accommodate seniors with disabilities and physical challenges. Conforming to the Green Communities criteria, we lowered the project’s carbon footprint by reusing an abandoned building and replacing equipment with highly efficient, Energy Star-compliant appliances.
